It's kind of like listening to a lofi companion piece to Meet Me in the Bathroom, we were rubbing elbows with sounds and styles and bands that were in The New Rock Revolution clubs and bars at the time. So we tried to stay in the mix, adding stuff to stay current, at least in a lofi way, with the heavily trending New Rock Revolution bands and our friends in the Antifolk and Freak Folk scenes. It was a real struggle for us to get cred and recognition with New York completely overrun by The New Rock Revolution. The lyrics were written while reading NME and Spin and/or while hanging around in clubs, bars, and streets with the bands in those articles. We feel the record has a deep appreciation of being able to participate in, and witness in awe, one of the most important cultural moments in music.
